OUR MISSION

Welcome to Remote K9 Foundation! Your generous contributions help support small department canine units, ensuring they have the resources and training necessary to work effectively. Together, we can enhance public safety and strengthen community bonds through the invaluable work of these dedicated canines. Thank you for being a vital part of this mission

About Us

Andy Roberts: Having served as the lead K9 trainer for the Virginia State Police for patrol dogs over an 18-year period and as a handler for 21 of those years, I have recognized a significant need for specialized equipment, comprehensive training, and adequate resources for small law enforcement agencies equipped with canine units. These teams typically possess minimal to no equipment and often struggle to cover expenses such as veterinary bills and essential items like dog food and proper kennels. Frequently, these units comprise a single officer managing their canine team within their jurisdiction. Despite being among the least funded specialized units, canine teams are often the most frequently deployed in the field. Our foundation is composed entirely of former canine handlers; additionally, we include a diverse group of professionals dedicated to supporting and enhancing the capabilities of these vital units.

Grants

The foundation plays a vital role in supporting police and sheriff's departments canine units with donations and collaborating with vendors and K9 training organizations. Our mission is to acquire essential equipment, supplies, and to enhance the effectiveness of canine teams in the field. Please note that we do not adopt or place working dogs, nor do we keep equipment on-site. Our focus remains on empowering those who serve and protect our communities.
